Lu Monferrato, now municipally joined to neighbouring Cuccaro Monferrato. The two villages are strategically located about 18 km from Alessandria and 19 km from Casale Monferrato, in the Lower Monferrato area. Wandering through the narrow alleys of the village is a pleasure for the eyes: among ancient churches and historical buildings that gradually reveal themselves, one finds oneself climbing up to the centre of the village, in the elevated area that houses the Gerbido of the Civic Tower. The surrounding hills are largely cultivated with vineyards, but of great importance is also the cultivation of hazelnuts, which has been going on for centuries. In addition to all the essential services, the village offers numerous places to eat and picturesque scenic routes for walking or cycling. It is an hour's drive from the main airports of northern Italy, namely those of Milan, Turin and Genoa.
