always preluded by the sight of its charming castle that, from the highest
point of the hill, acts as a guardian over the village below. San Giorgio is a
small town in the Province of Alessandria, 5.5 km from Casale Monferrato and
just over 30 km from both Alessandria and Asti. The village's fame is mainly
due to its castle, which is considered by historians to be the oldest of all
the castles in Monferrato, and the earliest evidence of its presence dates back
to the year 859. The village, perched on a hill at an altitude of 281 meters
above sea level, is worth a visit for several reasons: the beauty of its
castle, among the most impressive in all of Piedmont, the possibility of scenic
itineraries by car and on foot, but also convenience, since the village can be
reached in a few minutes by car from Casale Monferrato, a hub that accomodates all essential services as
